Aaron Izaryk hired to coach Sanford MainersUniversity of Maine assistant coach Aaron Izaryk has been hired to coach the Sanford Mainers of the New England Collegiate Baseball League this summer. Izaryk, a former Mainer himself in 2003 and 2004, was a standout catcher for the Black Bears from 2002-05. He had a career .318 batting average for Maine. Izaryk was hired following the resignation of Coach Joe Brown, who said in a letter last week his duties at SUNY Cortland would not allow him to coach the Mainers this summer.
