
Striker of the YearORONO - Maine soccer standout Laura Martel of Lewiston was named America East Striker of the Year today. The prolific scoring forward has 12 goals and one assist this season. She's scored in nine games this year, helping lead the Black Bears (8-5-2, 5-2-1 AE) to the conference playoffs. Maine hosts New Hampshire on Thursday at 2 p.m. in a quarterfinal game. Teammates Anjelica Hodgson of Ontario was named to the league's first team, and Cristina Di lelsi of Quebec was named to the second team. Megan Price-Leibenzeder of British Columbia was named to the all-rookie team.
