Mills, Dion file for governorSen. Peter Mills, R-Cornville, and former Biddeford Mayor Donna Dion, a Democrat, filed paperwork this week to run for governor. Mills, an attorney, is making his second attempt. He lost to Chandler Woodcock in the 2006 Republican primary. He said this week that he will make a formal announcement sometime in early August. Dion, who works as finance director for a nonprofit, said her work in the public and private sector have prepared her well to serve as governor. The total number of candidates who have filed so far stands at 14, with four Republicans, four Democrats, two Green Independents and four unenrolled candidates in the mix.
